Celebrating 55 Years In Business: What We’ve Learned

55 years is a really long time to be in business. It was way back in 1960 that my father, Louis Cordasco, started Crystal Restoration. Sometimes that date surprises people, but it shouldn’t – as long as there have been houses, there have been fires, floods, and other disasters, and people have always needed help getting their property back to a safe, attractive condition. Dad made a point of being there during the toughest times in people’s lives, using his professional skills and comforting, empathetic manner to let them know eventually, everything was going to be all right.

That’s how we strive to operate as Westchester’s go-to disaster restoration company today. A lot of has changed over the course of 55 years, but one thing has remained the same: people love their homes. We understand how disruptive and upsetting a disaster really is. This is true when it’s a widespread community disaster, such as Superstorm Sandy was, or an individual crisis, such as a house fire or sewer backup.

That’s why we take the time to meet with the homeowner individually, and really hear what their concerns are. Today we have a greater understanding of how our environment affects our health than we did 55 years ago. We know now that every family is different. Some families have members who struggle with asthma or other health concerns. Autism and cognitive delays impact other families. No matter what health challenges are present, we have learned that there’s a way to provide restoration services that result in a happy, healthy home for everyone. That’s why we use green cleaning products and methods. That’s why we’ll provide restoration services on the schedule that works best for your family.

The first 55 years we’ve been in business have taught us a lot, and we expect to learn a lot more in the next 55. Thank you for your friendship and support during all of this time. You’ve made providing disaster restoration services in Westchester a real pleasure, and we thank you.
